Domino tournaments, Latino beats, lots of dancing and of course the Cuban culture experience. The annual Festival Cubano had everything needed for the setting during its 3rd year at Riis Park.

The city festival with a variety of mostly Latino fare (about 20 food vendors), also included the Babaloo Beer Garden, a Kids’ Zone, and Cigar Lounge was filled with family fun and lots to keep the kid occupied over the weekend. In its 3rd year the Chicago north side staple, even with its newly implemented $7.00 per person; kids under 11 free and seniors free, had a carefree family feel and a host of evening adult lounge fun that was well worth the small admin fee.

Chicago International Salsa Congress, which comes back to town in February; the always fun and spot on, Mikey O; Zumba queens of Chicago Latin Fitness, and the Cuban-Reggae sounds of Angel d’Cuba were but a few of the festival’s performers. Hundreds of patient but eager fest goers were visibly moved by traditional dance, lots of food, a variety of drink, fun exercise moves and hilarious comedy shows over the 3 day weekend.
